The Broadway sensation will also celebrate its 20th Anniversary this October. For the next week, the top four longest-running shows &#8211; <\/span><strong><i><a href=\"https:\/\/groups.broadway.com\/show\/the-phantom-of-the-opera\/\">The Phantom of the Opera<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/groups.broadway.com\/show\/chicago\/\">Chicago<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/groups.broadway.com\/show\/the-lion-king\/\">The Lion King<\/a>, <\/i><\/strong>and <i>Wicked<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; are all currently playing on Broadway, a rare, if not short-lived, event in Broadway History.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Broadway production of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WICKED<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> currently features Alyssa Fox as Elphaba, McKenzie Kurtz as Glinda, Michele Pawk as Madame Morrible, John Dossett as The Wizard, James D. Gish as Fiyero, Kimber Elayne Sprawl as Nessarose, Michael Wartella as Boq, and William Youmans as Dr. Dillamond.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WICKED<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> looks at what happened in the Land of Oz\u2026but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin, who is smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships\u2026until the world decides to call one \u201cgood,\u201d and the other one \u201cwicked.\u201d<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WICKED<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman.
