SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR ALL BROADWAY THEATRES

For Performances Through January 2, 2022
The Broadway League announced on October 1, 2021 that the owners and operators of all 41 Broadway theatres in New York City will extend their requirement of vaccinations for audience members, as well as performers, backstage crew, and theatre staff, for all performances through January 2, 2022. Masks will also be required for audiences inside the theatre, except while eating or drinking in designated locations.

Under the policy, guests will need to be fully vaccinated with an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine in order to attend a show and must show proof of vaccination at their time of entry into the theatre with their valid ticket. “Fully vaccinated” means the performance date must be at least 14 days after the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, or at least 14 days after a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine.

Exceptions are being made for children under 12 and people with a medical condition or closely held religious belief that prevents vaccination. These guests must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of the performance start time, or a negative COVID-19 antigen test taken within 6 hours of the performance start time.

For Performances Beginning January 3, 2022
Theatre owners anticipate a review of policies in December 2021, and may include a relaxation of certain provisions if the science dictates. All groups will be notified by a representative of GSBO of any updates pertaining to their orders.

Guests with accessibility questions, or who require additional assistance related to a venue’s COVID-19 policies may email groups@broadway.com or call 1-800-BROADWAY x2.  Please note: all events are being planned at full capacity, subject to applicable law and governmental approval.

Additional Protocols for Each Theatre Chain are Detailed Below

DISNEY THEATRICAL’S SAFETY GUIDELINES

(This applies to productions at the New Amsterdam Theatre.)

The New Amsterdam Theatre will follow New York State and CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of all actors, production staff, theatre employees, and audience members. As public health conditions and the State’s guidance for performing arts and live entertainment changes, the theatre will remain flexible and adapt to applicable health protocols, such as face coverings, health screening, enhanced air filtration and ventilation, and rigorous cleaning and disinfection. Check this space for more details as your performance date approaches.

NEDERLANDER THEATRES SAFETY GUIDELINES

(This applies to productions at the following venues: Brooks Atkinson Theatre, Gershwin Theatre, Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, Marquis Theatre, Minskoff Theatre, Nederlander Theatre, Neil Simon Theatre, Palace Theatre, Richard Rodgers Theatre.)

Due to health and safety concerns regarding contact tracing and COVID-19, each group must have a designated Group Leader who will attend the performance with the rest of the group. Contact information for the Group Leader will be required prior to the tickets being delivered to the group. Once your order is confirmed a GSBO representative will provide any necessary forms.

These protocols may include, but are not limited to:

  • Masks. Everyone in the theatre must wear acceptable face coverings or face masks at all times unless the core function of the work or activity being conducted (e.g., cast members on the stage, musicians playing wind instruments) requires otherwise.
  • Cleaning. After each performance, high touch surfaces will be cleaned both backstage and in audience spaces. Once per day, the theatre will be thoroughly cleaned, and hand sanitizer will be stationed throughout the theatre.
  • Air filtration. We’re upgrading our systems to comply with CDC guidelines for hospital grade filtration and increasing fresh outdoor air and air exchange to the greatest extent possible.

Based on CDC and state guidelines at the time of performance, protocols may include mask enforcement, increased cleaning and ventilation/filtration enhancements, vaccination, or negative test verification, and more. These are subject to change. Ticket holders who do not comply with venue policies cannot be admitted.

(This applies to “Aladdin” at the New Amsterdam Theatre and “The Lion King” at the Minskoff Theatre.)

Exchanges are valid solely for different performances of originally purchased production. Exchanges must be made no later than two hours prior to start of originally-ticketed performance. Currently, there is no fee for exchanges. Exchange may be subject to additional fees if expedited delivery is requested. Tickets may be exchanged for any other single performance on sale at time of exchange, subject to blockout dates and other restrictions. Exchanges may not be made for same performance. Exchanges will only be made through original point of purchase; for group sales, exchanges can only be made through the original Agent. Group minimums still apply for any performance in which the tickets are used. Exchanges will be valued at original face value of the ticket purchased. Additional payments apply if choosing a performance or section that costs more than the original or if exchanges are from an originally-discounted ticket into a performance with no discounted tickets available. Guests may receive partial refunds if the face value of the original ticket is higher than the face value of the new ticket. New special offers may not be applied to exchanged tickets. Exchanges may not be made to change the number of tickets. Complimentary tickets and resold tickets are not eligible for exchange. Other restrictions may apply. Exchange policy may change or be revoked without notice.

Refunds are available for group ticket orders. Group refunds are limited to 30 tickets per day in advance the refund request is made (for example, up to 150 tickets may be refunded if the request is made more than three days in advance of the performance date and time). Complimentary tickets and resold tickets are not eligible for refund. Other restrictions may apply. Refund policy may change or be revoked without notice.
