Our favorite Tuesday of the year is finally here—Tony® Nominations Day! Funny Girl star Lea Michele and Tony winner Myles Frost (MJ) announced this year’s nominees and, as expected, there were some fan favorites as well as some exciting surprises!
Some Like it Hot led the way with 13 nominations, including best musical, best director and best choreography for Casey Nicholaw, and acting nods for J Harrison Ghee, Christian Borle, NaTasha Yvette Williams, and Kevin Del Aguila.
& Juliet, New York, New York, and Shucked each garnered 9 nominations a piece, with Kimberly Akimbo hot on their heels with 8.
As for Broadway plays, Ain’t No Mo, A Doll’s House, and Leopoldstadt each nabbed 6 nominations a piece, with Fat Ham, Life of Pi, and Cost of Living each being nominated for 5.
Tune in to the 76th annual Tony Awards on June 11, 2023, on CBS beginning at 8pm.
